Awareness Months honored with Social Distancing Spin

The GFWC Grundy Woman’s Club is often associated with the pinwheels and blue puzzle pieces it spreads throughout the Town of Grundy every April.

This year, however, that’s changing.

COVID-19 Pandemic halts annual pinwheel & puzzle piece decorations

As social distancing takes centerstage and the COVID-19 pandemic has government officials urging residents to stay home and businesses to telework, the Club is utilizing its own methods of tele-volunteerism.

Because Child Abuse & Autism Don’t Stop

We know child abuse and neglect, as well as autism, do not pause along with the world as it experiences the panic of a novel virus. Oftentimes, children experiencing child abuse and neglect go unnoticed as they encounter fewer people in everyday life. And parents of children with autism are facing a whole new world of struggles as therapies and services come to a halt and the pressure of teaching falls in their laps.

Social Media affords Club different means of accomplishing purpose

So to keep the focus on Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month and Autism Awareness Month, we’re sharing regular posts each week during the month of April that we hope you’ll share. Though we can’t be together, our desire to spread knowledge about both of these issues has not dampened.
